Zefferelli Best Film ! :)

So, yesterday my English teacher Ms.Vayda had us watch 3 films, and from those 3 films we had to choose the best one we thought was good, and I've made my choice :) . I consider Zefferelli's film is the best because even though it was not to accurate, the majority of the scenes were. For example in Act I Scene I, in the begging of the play, Marcellus and Bernardo were on the platform of the castle, it was midnight, dark, creepy, and "bitter cold," now, in the film they are not on the platform, however it is night and "bitter cold." Seeing the film and seeing how every time the guards would talk how you can see their breathe like smoke vaporizing in the air. Actors choice, something I did notice was that in the play, to me seemed as if Marcellus, Bernardo and Horatio were going to be young, but in the film they looked in their mid 40's, it's funny cause while watching my eyes open to the surprise that film corrected me. The clothes that they wore, while reading the play I actually thought they would wear, I really don't know why, but I had a feeling it was like that. When you start to read the play the first line is "Who's there?" by Bernardo(guard) and it already sets a creepy sense considering the fact that it is at midnight which triggers that suspense sensation. In the film this starts with music that you would see in a scary movie when the typical girl start to run away from a serial killer, while watching the begging I had chills running down my spine, it was even more creepy since my teacher turned of the lights and closed the blinds. Now one of the things I didn't like was that in the play the ghost obviously is a human being play to be a ghost, but actually act like the ghost, when I saw the film, I was quite disappointed that the ghost was a statue :| and not sorta marching like in the play direction read. This was an interesting piece of work, however accurate or inaccurate, every movie in this world is not ALWAYS perfect cause in reality NOTHING is perfect so why judge a great film?! I'm looking forward in seeing Hamlet by Zefferelli in the future.
